Family Retreats

Families Working Together for Christ through
Adventure Learning

The objective of the retreat experience is to bring unity to your family unit, so that you might become more productive and efficient in working together to honor God with your service.

If the family is not unified internally then Satan has the foothold he needs to divide and conquer. Prospective new families at church are looking for a solid, unified family model that will set the living example for them. Scripture tells us that, “If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he/she take care of God’s church.

Adventure Learning is a series of custom experiences designed to help family units, learn to build a life in God’s family as Christ intended. Jesus said, “All men will know you are my disciples by the way you love one another. Others will know you are my disciples by the way you show love to one another. As I have loved you, you should love one another.” These special family adventure learning experiences help families develop the close, loving relationships spoken about by our Lord. These adventure learning experiences help families to:

  • Better understand and effectively manage changes which occur when following God’s will while experiencing the strength of an empowered family unit.
  • Define different characteristics of effective family leaders and learn how to identify and display those types of characteristics in a family unit environment.
  • Define different characteristics of effective servant members and learn how to identify and display those types of characteristics in a healthy family environment.
  • Challenge the family both mentally and physically in growth experiences that will be easily transferable to family unit situations.
  • Define the areas in the family unit where conflict may surface and practice specific ways to manage that conflict.
  • Challenge the family to use the total range of their God given resources to solve issues they will face at church through custom designed learning experiences.
  • Understand and begin to appreciate the individual gifts each young family member has been given by God, and how it can apply to reaching others for Christ.
  • Understand that mistakes will be made and things will happen that change the dynamics of the situation, but a unified family, through the power of Christ, can overcome any adversity that Satan may dish out, and reach God’s targeted goals.
  • Understand and begin to utilize the 6-step servant leading process that includes: evaluating the situation, P & O for the task, laying out the strategy, setting up the lines of communication, carrying out God’s plan and evaluating the results.
  • Learning to have fun and trust your fellow family members while balancing the flow of action with reflection.
