The Dream Team Youth Retreat

Young Men & Women, Working Together for Christ through
Adventure Learning

The objective of the retreat experience is to bring unity within your youth group. Your youth group at church can become more productive and efficient in working together to honor God with their service.

If the youth are not unified internally, then Satan has the foothold he needs to divide and conquer. Prospective new youth group members are looking for a solid, unified youth group that will set a living example as loving, self controlled, brothers and sisters in the Lord. The Bible tells us to treat our young men as brothers and to encourage young men and women to be self controlled.

The Dream Team is a series of custom experiences designed to help youth groups, learn to build a life in the Church body as Christ intended, loving one another as bothers and sisters. Jesus said, “All men will know you are my disciples by the way you love one another. As I have loved you, you should love one another.” These special youth adventure learning experiences help youth develop the close, loving relationships within their group spoken about by our Lord. They also build accountability relationships so important for our youth as they are tested by the world today. These adventure learning experiences help youth to:

  • Better understand and effectively manage changes which occur when following God’s will while experiencing the strength of an empowered youth team.
  • Define different characteristics of effective team leaders and learn how to identify and display those types of characteristics in a youth group environment.
  • Define different characteristics of effective servant members and learn how to identify and display those types of characteristics in a youth group environment.
  • To challenge the team both mentally and physically in growth experiences that will be easily transferable to youth group situations.
  • Define the areas in the youth group where conflict may surface and practice specific ways to manage that conflict.
  • Challenge the team to use the total range of their God given resources to solve issues they will face through custom designed learning experiences.
  • Understand and begin to appreciate the individual gifts that each young man and woman was given by God and how it can apply to reaching others for Christ.
  • Be able to understand that mistakes will be made and things will happen that change the dynamics of the situation, but a unified youth group, through the power of Christ, can overcome any adversity that Satan may dish out and reach God’s targeted goals.
  • Understand and begin to utilize the 8-step model of necessary team elements: Effective Coach, Defined Vision & Goals, Strong Leaders, Supportive Team Members, Utilize all Resources, Follow the Play Book, Understand the Opponent, Establish Renewal and Rewards for carrying out God’s plan and evaluating the results.
  • Learning to have fun and trust your fellow team members while balancing the flow of action with reflection.
