Couples
Working Together for Christ through
Adventure Learning
The objective of the retreat experience is to bring unity
to married and engaged couples. You, as a couple can learn how to work
together more effectively so as to honor God with your service. The Bible
tells us that marriage should be honored by all.
If
the couples are not unified then Satan has the foothold he needs to divide
and conquer. God said, “It is not good for man to be alone.” He
created a helper for man, to be his teammate for life. Scripture says, “He
who finds a wife, finds what is good, and receives favor from the
Lord.”
Adventure
Learning is a series of custom experiences designed to help couples,
learn to build a life together, as Christ intended. Jesus said, “All
men will know you are my disciples by the way you love one another. As
I have loved you, you should love one another. If I have faith that can
move mountains, but don’t have love, I have nothing. Love is patient,
kind, hopes, protects, trusts and never fails. These special couple’s
adventure learning experiences help couples develop the close, loving
relationships spoken about by our Lord. These adventure learning experiences
help couples
to:
-
Better
understand and effectively manage changes which occur when
following God’s will while experiencing the strength
of an empowered couple.
-
Define
different characteristics of effective leaders and learn
how to identify and display those types of characteristics
in a couple’s environment.
-
Define
different characteristics of effective servants, and learn
how to identify and display those types of characteristics
in a couple’s environment.
-
Challenge
the couple both mentally and physically in growth experiences
that will be easily transferable to couples situations.
-
Define
the areas in the relationship where conflict may surface
and practice specific ways to manage that conflict.
-
Challenge
the couple to use the total range of their God given resources
to solve issues they will face through custom designed
learning experiences.
-
Understand
and begin to appreciate the individual gifts that each
was given by God and how they can be applied to reach others
for Christ.
-
Be
able to understand that mistakes will be made and things
will happen that change the dynamics of the situation,
but unified couples, through the power of Christ, can overcome
any adversity that Satan may dish out and reach God’s
targeted goals.
-
Understand
and begin to utilize the 6-step servant leading process
that includes: evaluating the situation, P & O for
the task, laying out the strategy, setting up the lines
of communication, carrying out God’s plan and evaluating
the results.
-
Learning
to have fun and trust your teammate while balancing the
flow of action with reflection.
